Tasting Notes: Welcoming on the nose, with soft notes of loganberry, morello cherry, plum and damask rose. On the palate, the impression is of density and darkness, with berry fruit and Sacher torte notes supported by robust, but pillowy tannins and a fine vein of blackcurrant acidity.

Deeply coloured and richly fruited, the wine shows blackcurrant, cured meat, thyme and nutmeg aromas, leading to a concentrated palate displaying outstanding weight and density, while remaining silky and harmonious. Superbly structured by loads of fine tannins, finishing impressively long and robust. Certified organic. At its best: 2024 to 2036. $85.00. www.frommwinery.co.nz. May 2022.

Opaque at the core with dark purple and ruby hues. A youthful and complex bouquet centering on scents of dark berries and baking spices, a natural earthy quality and sense of place. Taut and youthful on the palate with firm, ripe with textures of tannin and squeeze of acidity. Dark berries and clove, baked plum, violets and vanilla. A complex and delicious wine that will age well offering excellent food pairing or a fine glass of wine on its own. Best drinking from 2025 through 2035+.
