Alois Lageder Pinot Grigio DOC 2022

Tasting Notes:   Brilliant, clear, straw yellow with a golden shimmer. Delicate aromas, pronounced bouquet, fruity (peach, melon) exotic spices, minerals. Medium-bodied, quite rich, fruity, spicy, fresh, dry. Perfect balance of structured flavoursome Pinot Grigio with a crisp dry finish.

The pink shimmer in the glass means this could pass for a very pale modern rose and some red-berry fruit on the light and creamy front palate confirms that impression. Then some solid tannins at the herbal finish turn this in a more serious direction."

Pinot Grigio at Alois Lageder: Pinot Grigio, also called Grauburgunder or Pinot Gris, is currently the most commonly cultivated white wine variety in Alto Adige. The sites subject to Mediterranean influences around Magrè and Salorno have predominantly chalky soils with a high sand and gravel content and are perfect for cultivating this grape variety from the noble Pinot family.
