Château Milon's Ambrosius is the flagship cuvée from a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru estate with more than seven generations of viticultural heritage, crafted by Alexia and Pierre Bouyer from 18 hectares of gravelly and sandy-argillaceous soils at the foot of the Saint-Émilion slopes.

Saint-Émilion Grand Cru | 75% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc | 2020

Tasting Notes

Lovely aromas of red and black fruit. Nicely balanced structure with good concentration and depth which carries through to the long finish. A classic and delicious Saint-Émilion.

An approachable yet genuinely structured Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, built on silky tannins and generous fruit, with the depth to reward patience or reward an opened second day.

Why you'll love it: The 2020 vintage in Bordeaux was exceptional: a warm, dry year producing concentrated, fruit-forward wines with natural structure. The Ambrosius opens beautifully on the second day after opening, showing just how much it has to give.

The Vineyard

Château Milon's 18 hectares span the municipalities of Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes and Saint-Émilion, planted at 9,000 vines per hectare on gravelly and sandy-argillaceous soils at the foot of the slopes. The estate holds Haute Valeur Environnementale certification. Vines are harvested by hand, with ageing in a combination of new and once-used French oak barriques.

About Château Milon

The Arteau-Bouyer family has been farming in Saint-Émilion since the Middle Ages, with ancestors recorded as Jurats of Saint-Émilion. Today Alexia and Pierre Bouyer, at the head of the estate since 1999, steward more than seven generations of heritage across 18 hectares. Alexia leads the viticulture with care and precision; the Ambrosius cuvée is their finest expression of the estate's Merlot-dominant soils.

Perfect with roast lamb with garlic and thyme, duck breast with cherry sauce, or aged hard cheeses. The silky tannins and concentrated fruit character of this Saint-Émilion are made for rich, savoury dishes.
