Tasting Note:    A kaleidoscope of aromas, including lychee, mango and white floral, with herbal notes of tarragon and thyme. The succulent palate is equally intricate with gooseberry compote and tangelo meringue, melding with notes of linseed, lanolin and sandalwood. Bright acidity and a hint of saltiness provide perfect balance to the generous and textured finish.

REVIEWS:

Decanter, Tasted by: Ines Salpico (at London, 05 Jul 2023) Part of Wines for the week: October 2023  93 Points    Very expressive, with Greywacke’s trademark fleshiness and textural appeal. Luscious passion fruit, pineapple, guava and peach offset by refreshing lime zest and fragrant orange blossom. Good persistence, with elegance and generosity in equal measures. Drinking Window: 2023 - 2025

Decanter, Tasted by: Tina Gellie (at Lindley Hall, London, 07 Feb 2023) Part of Wines for the week: October 2023    With 25 years at Cloudy Bay, Kevin Judd was key to the global renown of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Today his Greywacke wines (particularly the Wild Sauvignon) are standard bearers in their own right. This elegant, textural vintage brims with zippy pineapple sorbet, elderflower blossom and green mango freshness, with bracing lime acidity and a creamy passionfruit curd finish.  Drinking Window: 2023 - 2027

About Greywake:        Greywacke (pronounced Greywacky) is the Marlborough label of the Judd family and the name of New Zealand’s most abundant bedrock. These understated grey river stones are found throughout Marlborough’s rivers and alluvial vineyard soils. Established in 2009, Greywacke is truly a family affair and while the company now exports its wines all over the world, the ethos is very much ‘keep it simple and hands-on’ with a small, dedicated team running the company from Greywacke HQ in the heart of Marlborough’s Omaka Valley. The fruit is sourced from mature vineyards in prime viticultural sites to optimise the potential afforded by Marlborough’s sunny South Pacific climate.
