Tasting Notes:    Dark black and red berry fruits, graphite, new leather, smoke, spice, and the smell of the sea. The 2021 is a very hedonistic wine  - seemingly fruit forward and rich but there are layers of complexity that revel themselves as you journey through the bottle.  A wine that will cellar incredibly well.

Excellent Cameron Douglas MS 95 Points    An excellent bouquet of power and concentration, dark plums and blackberry fruits, lots of baking spices, smoky wood and new barrel scents. There’s an enticement from the synergy of aromas along with and earthy stony quality adding depth and intrigue. Full-bodied, dry, plenty of tannins and acidity delivery a taut and very youthful mouthfeel. Fruit flavours remain at the core with dark skinned plums and blackberry, there’s also chocolate and brown baking spices, a lick of salt, a long finish and complexity. Best drinking from 2028 through 2038.

Grapes: 45% Cabernet franc, 25% Merlot, 11% Petit Verdot,10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Malbec.

About Man O War:    Waiheke Island, New ZealandMan O’ War is steeped in history dating back to early Polynesian adventurers. The protected cove has provided safe harbour during many rough seas. The bay was named by navigators in the late 1700s.
The magnificent Kauri trees were noted in the early shipping journals, they made ideal masts for the naval Man O’ War warships, and thus the name Man O’ War was bestowed upon this special place.
