Pieropan Soave Classico is a benchmark organic Soave from the Veneto in northern Italy, made by the family estate that first put the name Soave on a label.

Soave Classico DOC | Certified Organic | Food-Friendly

Tasting Notes

This is how Soave should taste but seldom does. Plenty of ripe pear-like fruit plus a dash of toasted nut flavours. Crisp and fresh, with a hint of honey in the finish, this is a delightful aperitif wine, as well as a fine choice for pairing with light seafood or vegetarian dishes.

The wine that proves how good Soave can be: fresh, mineral and quietly serious.

Why you'll love it: It is the kind of white you can open for almost anything, an easy aperitif that becomes a faultless partner for seafood once dinner arrives. No wonder it is on so many restaurant lists.

Reviews

92 Points, James Suckling (2024): "aromas of lemon, green apple, pineapple, elder flowers and lime curd."

The Vineyard

The Garganega grapes grow on the stony, volcanic and calcareous hills of Soave Classico, the historic heart of the appellation. Those soils give the wine its minerality and freshness.

About Pieropan

Founded in 1880 in the walled town of Soave, Pieropan is one of the Veneto's most respected family estates and a benchmark for the region. It was the first producer to bottle a wine labelled Soave, in the early 1930s, and under Nino Pieropan it created Italy's first single-vineyard Soave, Calvarino, in 1971. The family farms organically, certified since 2008, and the estate is now run by Nino's sons Andrea and Dario, who continue a fastidious, terroir-focused approach built on the native Garganega grape. These are genuine, restaurant-quality wines with clarity and a real sense of place.

Perfect with grilled prawns, spaghetti alle vongole, or a goat's cheese salad. The salinity and citrus lift cut through seafood and fresh, herby dishes.
