Tasting Notes

A deep strong black with purple hue in colour. The aromatics are intense aromatics of blackberry, mulberry, and ripe plum, layered with dark chocolate and a lift of cedar and spice. Hints of cola and a whisper of mint add depth and freshness.

The palate opens with a generous wave of dark fruit, plush yet vibrant, reflecting the low yields and early ripening of the season. Rich blackberries and boysenberry compote drive through, supported by savoury undertones of cracked pepper and charcuterie. Tannins are supple, and woven seamlessly into the fruit core, lending shape and energy without overwhelming. The finish is long, pure, and persistent, carrying notes of dark fruits and spice well beyond the last sip. Enjoy now for its generosity and drive, or cellar for 8+ years to see the layers deepen and the tannins soften further.

Classic Barossa Valley Shiraz with intense dark fruit concentration, plush tannins, and remarkable depth—immediately enjoyable yet built for cellaring.

The Picture Series

Every wine in the Picture Series has its own inspiration, Two Hands' own take on popular culture. With old school polaroid imagery by friend and photographer Don Brice and a quirky back label descriptor, the aim is to bring a smile to your face when you pick up the bottle, reminding you that wines should be approachable and of course, fun.

About Two Hands Wines

Founded in 1999 by Michael Twelftree and Richard Mintz, Two Hands was established with a clear vision to make the best possible Shiraz-based wines from prized growing regions throughout Australia. Robert Parker famously named Two Hands "the finest negociant south of the equator." In November 2012, Two Hands was named in Wine Spectator's annual Top 100 for the 10th consecutive year, an achievement without equal by any winery worldwide. Their wines showcase the diversity of Australian Shiraz by highlighting regional and vineyard characteristics, with fruit as the primary feature. Two Hands wines are featured on premium restaurant wine lists internationally.

Perfect with grilled lamb rump, ribeye steak, or beef short ribs. The intense dark fruit, cracked pepper notes, and supple tannins make this a natural match with rich red meats and chargrilled dishes.
